Job Description:
Plans, fabricates, assembles, troubleshoots, modifies, repairs and tests precision electrical,
mechanical, hydro mechanical, electromechanical devices, systems, subsystems,
mechanisms, and controls associated with Ground Based Radar Systems where complete s
pecifications and design details are frequently lacking. Assists engineering personnel
with the collection and interpretation of test data to determine the functionality and
performance of Ground Based Radar systems, subsystems and components.
Responsibilities and Requirements:
A broad knowledge in electronic and mechanical principles, and experience in Ground Based
Radar Systems are required. Works from preliminary design drawings, sketches,
specifications, oral and written instructions requiring interpretation and application
of experience and judgment. Assists engineering to create and document applicable repair
and/or modification instructions, procedures, processes, and planning to assemble,
troubleshoot, test, and perform fabrication operations to precise tolerances on
electromechanical devices, systems, and subsystems, mechanisms, and controls.
Works with supervision, engineers and other professional / technical personnel to carry
out troubleshooting for unique problems, recommend modifications, repair and/or part
substitution and propose improvements in procedures, or hardware design. Conducts tests
using specially designed equipment and resolves minor design problems. Assists with
special test investigations and derivation of test methods suitable for measurement of
values consistent with the accuracy desired. Records and reduces test data and may
prepare preliminary reports, charts and graphs. May provide assistance to personnel
in lower related job classifications. May use hand and power tools, and support equipment
as necessary to perform above duties. Perform rework of the same nature and level of
difficulty as described. Performs incidental related duties as assigned or required.

Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Positions at Raytheon may require U.S. citizenship for purposes of obtaining clearances.
Additional clearances may also be required from the DoD.
